Function Policies
| General: | We offer banquet service for up to 100 people and have a full service bar and wine list. We provide cake-cutting services if requested. All special events are held within the pre-specified location agreed upon. In the event of inclement weather, a secondary location will be used if necessary. Your menu selection and final guest count must be made no less than 14 days prior to your event. A children's menu is also available. Our Sales Manager can assist you with your selection. |
| Reservations: | The Chippewa Hotel Waterfront & Lilac Tree Hotel & Spa require reservations for all special events. Please call (866) 847-6575 or email john@lilactree.com. We will prepare a Booking Agreement outlining your specifications when you are ready to reserve your event. |
| Rental Fee: | The rental fee is required to cover the cost of guaranteed space reservation, set-up, breakdown, linen rental, menu printing & design, table decoration, basic audio-visual services and event coordination. We have a two hour minimum for each event. |
| Deposit: | A deposit equal to the rental fee is required to guarantee your event and must be received with your signed contract. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, check or cash. Your deposit will be applied toward your final bill. |
| Payment: | Full payment is required no later than the day of your event by cash or credit card. |
| Guarantees: | We require a guarantee of the final count of guests at least 14 days prior to the event. If we do not receive a guarantee, we will consider the number of guests on the Booking Agreement to be your guarantee. You will be charged for the actual number served or the guarantee, whichever is greater. |
| Cancellation: | Your cancellation policy will be outlined in your Booking Agreement. |
| Liquor/Food: | In accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, the Hotel in question is the only authorized licensee to sell, serve, or furnish liquor, beer, wine, or food on the premises. This excludes wedding cakes only. No beverage of any kind is permitted to be brought onto our banquet premises. We reserve the right to refuse service when necessary. |
| Limited Liability: | Chippewa Hotel Waterfront and the Lilac Tree Hotel & Spa are not responsible for any equipment or materials left unattended in any area of the premises. Damages to the premises will be charged accordingly. |
| Service Charge: | Banquet meals & beverages are subject to an 18% gratuity charge and 6% Michigan sales tax. |
