We have always taken standards for hygiene and cleanliness very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our guests and employees. On a daily basis, our hotel is working to ensure that they meet the latest guidance on hygiene, cleaning, and training. We are currently in the process of creating a new cleanliness policy to address the new COVID-19 Virus. We will continue to practice proper hand washing, public area cleaning, and guest room cleanliness.
Pony Safe:
The entire crew at The Lilac Tree Suites & Spa hope you’re well and safe during these unique times. We want to update you on some new changes we have for our guests this year. Pony Safe is The Lilac Tree Suites & Spa complete commitment to sanitization. The safety for you and all of our guests is our top priority. The 2021 Season will offer similar practices to the 2020 Season. This is to help keep you, your family, and friends safe. Below are new guidelines we are asking all of our guests to follow while they visit The Lilac Tree Suites & Spa. We hope to see you up on Mackinac Island this Summer.
New Sanitizing Practices:
Upon your arrival to The Lilac Tree Suites & Spa, you will notice many new changes. For the health and safety of our employees and guests, we are not offering guest room housekeeping service on a daily basis or nightly turn-down service. At this time, cleaning between guest stays will now require more steps to provide a super sanitized room for our guests. We are focusing on high traffic areas and frequently touched surfaces. Extra sanitizing will take place on TV remotes, grab rails, door handles, light switches, and seating. While you are here, additional amenities and towels can be arranged through the Front Desk.
Our public areas and surfaces will continue to be cleaned and sanitized throughout the day. The high-contact points will now be cleaned more frequently. This includes the Front Desk counter, elevator, elevator buttons, bathrooms, door handles and hand rails.
Guest Distancing Policy:
To help diminish the spread of COVID-19, all guests will be required to wear a face mask and social distance by at least six feet while indoors. Frequent hand washing and sanitizing is highly encouraged while you are visiting us. Hand sanitizing stations are placed around the facility for your use. Please follow the directions of signage placed throughout the property. Keep your eyes open for our “Back Your Pony Up” spots located 6 feet apart.
Employee Health:
We are monitoring the health of all our employees. Temperatures will be taken prior to each shift. If any of our employees show any symptoms or have a temperature of 100.5 degrees or greater, the employee will be sent home and monitored.
All staff will be trained on the new cleaning procedures, social distancing, and personal hygiene. They will be required to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer much more frequently. Employees will also be wearing face masks during their shift.
Amenities:
We’ve had to adjust a few of our amenities offered here at The Lilac Tree Suites & Spa.
The outdoor hot tub hours are 9AM-11PM with a limited capacity of 12 people.
The Lilac Tree Spa will not be open for our 2021 season.
For your safety, we are recommending that you bring your own luggage to the hotel if you are able. The Dock Porters will still be available for you to use upon arrival to the Island. Luggage can still be stored before your room is ready and also shipped down to the ferry upon departure.

Please remember to show up 30 minutes prior to departure. As mentioned earlier, we recommend you bring your belongings to the hotel yourself if you are able to. The Dock Porters will still be available for you to use upon arrival to the Island
