Smoking & Pet Policy

Smoking and Pets are not permitted. A $250.00 per day cleaning fee will be assessed for any Smoking/Pet violations. Hotel management will make this determination.

Luggage Assistance

Dock Porters are available upon arrival at the ferry docks and can be arranged at the front desk when it is time to depart the island. (Gratuities are appreciated as porter service is not included with your room rate) Luggage can be stored with the Lilac Tree's Front Desk Staff. *Please try to have your own personal identification tags on each of your bags.

Occupancy and Rates

Room rates are based on double occupancy.  All room rates are required to be charged a 6% State Tax, an 8% Hotel Levy and a 4% Mackinac Island Lodging Assessment Fee.

Minimum Stay Requirements

During particular parts of the season, minimum stay requirements may be in place. This includes weekdays in late June, July, and August (depending on availability), as well as weekends and dates containing special events. Please see the rate calendar for specific minimum requirements.

Deposit

The hotel requires a deposit at the time of booking to guarantee all room reservations. The majority of our reservation deposits are equal to one night room and tax. Special event dates and groups require a full-length-of-stay deposit.

 

Payments

You must be 21 or older to check-in to the Lilac Tree Suites with a valid credit card. Cash, traveler checks, Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express are accepted.

A valid credit card will be required upon check-in.

Full payment for a room is required at check-in even if paying in cash. 

*Please Note: When choosing to use a debit card as a deposit or form of payment when checking into the hotel, it is important to understand how debit cards and their transactions are handled by banks. When checking in, the front desk computer system tells the debit card company to put a hold on the funds necessary to cover the entire length of stay's room and tax. An additional $20.00 per day may be put on hold for incidentals. These funds are not withdrawn from the account, but are made unavailable until the hotel indicates the funds are no longer needed. At this time it may take up to fifteen days for the bank to make these funds available again.

For this reason, it is recommended that a credit card be used at check-in and then check-out with the debit card.

Checkout before 11:00AM

If you arrive to the Island before 4:00PM, stop by the Front Desk for pre-registration. If your room is ready when you arrive, we will check you in. If not, we will ask for a cell phone number and call you as soon as your room is ready.

"Green and Pink"

The Lilac Tree Suites has an extensive Green Policy. The hotel initiative includes purchasing green products, promoting re-using towels and linens, employee awareness and a waste recycle program. Because of this we like to say – “drink Pink and please think Green!”

ADA Compliance

The Lilac Tree Suites offers two king suites that are handicap-accessible. They are located near the elevator. These rooms have lower beds, wider doorways, and roll-in showers. Shower chairs and raised toilet seats are available by request.

Cancelation Policy

Regular reservation cancellations made more than 14 days before arrival date will receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee. Group Reservation cancellation made more than 30 days before arrival date will receive a refund less a $50.00 cancellation fee.

Regular reservation cancellations made within 14 Days of arrival forfeit the reservation deposit. Group reservation cancellations made within 30 days of arrival, forfeit the reservation deposit. All reservations made within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable. Changes are permitted only up to 14 days before your arrival date for regular reservations and 30 days before arrival for group reservations. Within 14 days, your reservation is non-refundable and no changes may be made. All changes are subject to currently selling rates and availability. Early departures and no-show reservations will be liable for the full amount of the reservation, even if this amount exceeds the deposit already collected. In the case of early departures or no-shows, the hotel will apply the deposit collected at booking towards the balance due.
