Planning a stay at Lilac Tree Suites is exciting — and we want your arrival to feel smooth, comfortable, and stress-free. To help you prepare, we’ve gathered everything you need to know about our policies, arrival details, and what to expect during your stay in downtown Mackinac Island.

A Peaceful, Smoke-Free & Pet-Free Environment
Lilac Tree Suites is committed to maintaining a clean, fresh, and relaxing environment for all guests. Smoking and pets are not permitted anywhere on the property.
If a smoking or pet policy violation occurs, a $250 per day cleaning fee will be assessed. Hotel management will determine any violations. These policies help ensure that every guest enjoys the same high standard of comfort and cleanliness.
Luggage Assistance & Island Arrival
One of the unique charms of Mackinac Island is arriving by ferry — and we’re here to help make that transition easy.
Dock porters are available at the ferry docks upon arrival and can also be arranged at the front desk for your departure. (Gratuities are appreciated, as porter service is not included in your room rate.)
If you arrive before check-in time, feel free to stop by the front desk for pre-registration. We are happy to store your luggage until your suite is ready. Please remember to have personal identification tags on each of your bags.

If you arrive early and your suite is ready, we’ll gladly check you in. If not, simply provide a cell phone number and we’ll notify you as soon as your room becomes available.
Room Rates & Occupancy
Room rates at Lilac Tree Suites are based on double occupancy. All room rates are subject to:

3% Mackinac Island Lodging Assessment Fee
During certain times of the season — including late June, July, August, weekends, and special event dates — minimum stay requirements may apply. Be sure to check the rate calendar for details when booking.
Deposits & Payment Information
To guarantee your reservation, a deposit is required at the time of booking. For most reservations, this equals one night’s room and tax. Special event dates and group bookings require a full-length-of-stay deposit.
Guests must be 21 years of age or older to check in and must present a valid credit card.

Full payment is required at check-in, even if paying with cash.
Important Note About Debit Cards
If using a debit card, please understand that banks place a hold for the full room and tax amount of your stay. An additional $20 per day may also be held for incidentals. These funds are not withdrawn but are temporarily unavailable and may take up to 15 days to be released by your bank.
For this reason, we recommend using a credit card at check-in and settling with a debit card at check-out if preferred.

Lilac Tree Suites offers two handicap-accessible king suites located near the elevator. These rooms include:

Shower chairs and raised toilet seats are available upon request to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be clear and fair:
Regular Reservations

Cancel more than 14 days before arrival: Refund less a $50 cancellation fee

Cancel within 14 days of arrival: Deposit is forfeited

Reservations made within 14 days of arrival are non-refundable

Changes permitted up to 14 days prior (subject to availability and current rates)
Group Reservations

Cancel more than 30 days before arrival: Refund less a $50 cancellation fee

Cancel within 30 days: Deposit is forfeited

Changes permitted up to 30 days prior
Early departures and no-shows are responsible for the full reservation balance, even if it exceeds the deposit collected.
